Transmission Valve Body Robotic Deburring Cell
Our customer needed a solution for removing flashing from their transmission valve castings. They had been using 20 employees working in 2 hour shifts (2 hours work, 2 hours break) to file the flashing by hand. The ergonomic health issues were enormous. CMI developed a solution by integrating a material handling robot and a DVT vision system with their existing trim press. The DVT cameras determine how much flashing must be removed and develop an offset factor used to modify the deburring program.

Robotic De-gating & Flaming Cell
This cell has been designed around a fabricated main base structure with two ABB robots. These robots are programmed to engage the end-of-arm tooling used in cutting off the injection molding gates and burn off left over flashing from the edges of the fender. This versatile system has a removable fixture to allow the cell to run different fenders. Several end-of-arm tooling assemblies are also included with the cell for effective handling of the various fenders.

Vision Guided Robotic Depalletizing and Loading System
A Kuka robot has been outfitted with a custom designed end-of-arm gripper and 3D vision system to allow this smart depalletizer to remove wheel components from their trays and onto an adjoining assembly system. This system also includes a part orient device, as well as in-feed and exiting conveyors for the pallets.

Spout Packing Machine
This packaging machine uses two servo controlled axis to package detergent spouts into boxes. The spouts enter on an in-feed conveyor. The machine inspects each row to ensure that there is the proper count. Then it fills a box which enters on a separate in-feed conveyor. When the box is filled it is moved out by the exit conveyor.
