November 2, 2011 The Iraq and Afghanistan war have been a testing ground of future weapons, including the laser. Due to ineffective technologies laser systems have had a reputation for being too bulky, power intensive and unreliable to be used on the battlefield. The ZUES laser has changed that by being a torrent mounted laser that is capable of shooting unexploded ordinances, surface mines and improvised explosive devices from a distance of 300 meters.
