Laser Welding System

Laser Welding System
The two types of laser welding system units commonly used for industrial purposes are gas and solid state. The gas laser welding system is often referred to as a carbon dioxide unit, and uses a mixture of CO2, helium and nitrogen. It can handle both metallic and non-metallic materials. However, it is not suitable for fiber optics. The solid state laser welding system uses a solid bar of YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet) doped with neodymium. It can be used on all metals, including reflective metals, but cannot handle non-metallic materials. It can also be used for fiber optic applications, and is generally considered to be more precise but slower than gas units. All laser welding system units have greater speed and precision than other methods.
