Laser Welding Equipment
The two types of laser welding equipment models commonly used for industrial purposes are gas and solid state. Gas laser welding equipment are often referred to as carbon dioxide units, and use a mixture of CO2, helium and nitrogen. It can handle both metallic and non-metallic materials. However, it is not suitable for fiber optics. Solid state laser welding equipment uses a solid bar of YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet) doped with neodymium. It can be used on all metals, including reflective metals, but cannot handle non-metallic materials. It can also be used for fiber optic applications, and is generally considered to be more precise but slower than gas units. All laser welding equipment have greater speed and precision than other methods.
